Blue Sky Thinking

Blue Sky Thinking has been the flavour of the month – I suspect this just means having a larger perspective of life and looking outside ones own parameters. Being part of the ‘big society’ encourages us to think of others and work for the better of all leaving our comfort zone behind.

From the secular understanding one looks at the whole then translates to the individual; by contrast the Christian starts with self and then relates to the larger society in which we seek to be pro-active in a Christian way encouraging all to be less selfish and more open.

Peace in our Communities - a prayer

This prayer has been circulated by the Church of England during this troubled week:

Gracious God,
We pray for peace in our communities this day.
We commit to you all who work for peace and an end to tensions,
And those who work to uphold law and justice.
We pray for an end to fear,
For comfort and support to those who suffer.
For calm in our streets and cities,
That people may go about their lives in safety and peace.
In your mercy, hear our prayers,
now and always. Amen

Join us at 10.00am for our service tomorrow - a time for peace, contemplation and reflection.

New doors

Our new internal porch doors are now in place letting light into the church and enabling a view through to proceedings during services. Why not come along this Sunday at 10.00am to take a look? There will be refreshments in the porch after the service.

Fundraiser outcome

Our blog has been rather quiet of late due to holidays etc. Thought you'd all like to know that the Tarts and Vicars event raised a very acceptable £220 towards church funds. If you have any ideas for fund raising events, please do let Sally, Elizabeth or Genna know.
